eTwinning Code of Conduct
eTwinning is a platform that enhances learning through project and collaborative work.
eTwinning is based on mutual understanding and respect.
1. Basic principles
eTwinners and their activities, messages, posts, project presentations and everything published on the eTwinning platform must adhere to and comply with the following fundamental principles within the framework of the European Union's Fundamental Values and general principles.
Be inclusive.
Everyone's ideas and changes are welcomed, within the values expressed in this Code of Conduct. Changing their own perspectives, building relationships with different cultures and engaging other eTwining users both online and in existing events, sectors, venues and networking activities are encouraged. eTwinning encourages understanding, empathy and openness to participation, with the aim of making it a safe, harassment-free space.
- Be respectful.
All work on the eTwinning platform should be respectful of other people and their activities. All actions should be motivated by good intentions, so as to make eTwining users feel comfortable and safe, while, at the same time, motivated and productive. eTwinners may not insult or disparage others, or encourage backing against people, because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation or gender and/or because of their membership of a country, group or minority.
- Be tolerant.
Conflict is inevitable at times. Tolerance of the views of others is the pragmatic approach encouraged in this community. The important thing is to always seek solutions to disagreements and differing views within the dedicated sections provided in this Code of Conduct, and to recognize that some situations may result in “agreeing to disagree”.
- Be polite and friendly.
Be polite and friendly in all forms of communication, especially remote communication, where misunderstandings is more frequent. Being polite means being aware of other people and showing respect.
